After converting Word or WordPerfect file to ASCII, use ProEDIT to fix missing Page Breaks.
There MUST be a PAGE BREAK at the bottom of Each and Every Page in the ASCII file!
ProEDIT has an Auto Page Break Advance feature that makes this an Easy Job.

1. Start ProEDIT - by pressing "Start", "Programs", "ProTEXT", then "ProEDIT".
   -or- click the ProEDIT Icon on your screen.
2. Select File, Open to open the ASCII file you converted from Word or WordPerfect.
   (if you used my example filename, type "C:\sample.txt", and press Open)
   
3. If you get a File Sharing Violation, Go Back to Word or WordPerfect, and close the document.
   (After Word/WordPerfect converts to ASCII, it opens the ASCII for Editing!)
4. Your ASCII is now open for editing in ProEDIT.

Turn Auto Advance ON, then Add Page Breaks to the Testimony Pages

• NOTE: If your text is Double Spaced then double the 'Auto Advance' number.
  Example: Enter the number 50 if your pages are 25 lines, double spaced.
• NOTE: If the cursor is on a line that contains text, the Page Break will be inserted AFTER the line.
• NOTE: If the cursor is on a blank line, the Page Break will be inserted at the End of the line.

Press Ctrl and Enter keys at the same time to Insert a Page Break.

The Page Break has been Added, and the Cursor Moves Down 25 Lines.


The Cursor is now positioned EXACTLY where it should be to Add the next Page Break.
Press Ctrl Enter until all of the Testimony Pages have their Page Breaks.

Turn Auto Advance OFF, then add Page Breaks to all of the Title and Certificate Pages

Proceed to add all page breaks to the Title and Certificate pages.
It doesn't matter if there is a page break at the end of file.
There MUST be a PAGE BREAK at the bottom of EVERY PAGE in the document!
  ( But -- It doesn't matter if there is a page break at the end of file.)

• NOTE: You can remove all page breaks by selecting Edit then Remove All Page Breaks.
• NOTE: To delete ONE page break, cursor to it and press Delete or Backspace just as you would delete normal text.

Select "File", "Save", and exit ProEDIT.
Your ASCII is now ready for Condensing and Indexing - also to distribute to an attorney.
You can now run ProTEXT" (or you can enable "Options", "Run ProTEXT on Exit").
